I got back to the states for the Christmas holidays on December 8. Joe came a couple of days later. He was actually supposed to come a week after me but he had an opportunity to work a few days in the Dallas office so he took advantage of it.
The next couple of weeks were spent getting to doctor's appointments and of course, frantically shopping and getting ready for Christmas. It's so hard to not have your own place during this special time of year. I love decorating for the holidays and I can't wait to get back home and have my own place to prepare for the holidays. It was nice though to spend special time with Kelli and Doug, Jay and Ashley, and Paul, Candice and Talon in their homes.
We have so much family that it takes a few days to get all the celebrating in. We started on the 23rd with my mom and dad and my brother's family. It had been since last Christmas that we had all been together at one time so this was a special time for me. With all the spouses, grand kids and great-grand kids, we now number 21 and next year we'll have another addition. Mom's and dad's house is getting to be quite a squeeze for us all together. We had a fun night of food and gift opening and just catching up with each other.
