The day after I got back from my visit home, we attended the Second Annual Mardi Gras Ball in Chengdu. For the second year, friends from Louisiana hosted the ball. It's so fun to get dressed up for a fun evening with good friends, good food and LOTS of fun.
The added thrill for this year's ball was that Joe and I were asked to be the King and Queen of the Mardi Gras Ball. It was a pretty well kept secret until Joe and I made our grand entrance into the ballroom with our crowns, scepters and royal robes, tossing beads to everyone and took our places on our thrones before our adoring crowd! The ball's theme this year was Las Vegas and included entertainment from "Elvis", dancing girls and roulette and black jack tables.
