After our reunion, Joe and I took off to Cedar Creek to spend some time at our newly purchased lakehouse. We spent the week waking up to beautiful sunrises, watching the amazing sunsets and getting a feel for what will be our get-away place when we get back home from China.
We spent most of our days shopping for furniture and stocking the kitchen to make the place more comfortable. In a few short days we had living room and dining room furniture and a bed delivered as well as a washer and dryer and television and satellite installed. I was able to get the kitchen organized and the place is slowly becoming the perfect place to get away to relax. We still have a ways to go but at least we now have a place to sit, eat and sleep.
On Thursday we drove back to Grand Prairie to pick up Talon so he could spend a couple of days with Papa Joe and Kimi at the lake. Talon loves the place and was excited to get up in the mornings and go fishing on the dock with Papa Joe.
On Saturday the kids came down as well as my mom and dad, brother and sister in law and Joe's stepmother. Although it was cloudy most of the day, we rented a boat and had some fun on the water. Mom and Dad both caught fish off the dock. It was nice to have our first family get-together at our new place and I look forward to many, many more. Hopefully in our future trips home we can get some work done on the inside of the house and maybe even get a boat before next spring. Look out folks, we have a new party place! Can't wait for you come and make some unforgettable memories with us.
