We finally got back to church this morning. It had been awhile since we had been since we were home to the states and Joe has been traveling so much. We are finally getting back in to our regular routines. A lot of people have returned to their home countries for the summer but there were also a lot of new faces.
One bit of news we learned was that our morning praise service was supposed to be with Steven Curtis Chapman. Wow! Can you imagine in Chengdu China!? Apparently he and his group had been quarantined in Beijing. I told Joe that would have been an awesome service!
Chapman and his wife along with family and friends were in China for the opening of Maria's Big House of Hope in Luoyang. It is a facility to house and provide medical care for orphans. The facility is named for his adopted 5 year old Chinese daughter Maria who died unexpectedly in 2008. They were also in Chengdu this past week and visited the earthquake area.

Please keep the Chinese people, especially the children in your prayers. These people are eager to hear the word of God and the holy spirit is alive and well here!
